Thinking Out Loud
So, I am not sure about the rules of the game. I am fairly new to blogging, and I think that I am crossing boundaries. I have a blog with a title "the hoopes fam" which makes it seem like it is for and on behalf of the whole lot of them. That Gavin and I write our happenings. Dalton and Shelby add their two cents. And it is one big happy family affair. But, that is not the case. It will truly be a cold day in Hell when Gavin posts a blog entry. Let's just say that he's about as interested in it as he is in letting me tell him all the ways that he could improve his personality while going shoe shopping with my mom and me (his treat), followed by a long night of spooning while watching "The Notebook". Yeah, it's that repulsive to him. And Dalton has his own blog...which he needs to update. And Shelby is four- so forget it. And so it is mine. It is my thoughts and feelings and personality. And that is not often censored. So, what to do?? Do I do my own "mommy blog" where I get to be bugged once in a while, and rant and rave and think out loud while this one shares cutesy things like pics of the kids, with their growth charts and school projects?? Do I say, "The Heck With It"? I don't know....

Make your own rules. You can be bugged. Post growth charts. Rant and rave. Most people would rather go to one place, anyway.
Also, once upon a time, after I got married, I changed my profile to say "Chris and Charlotte." As you can see, it is just "Charlotte" again. Chris might read my blog once a month or so...but as far as posting on it? Fuhgedaboutit.
Good idea Charlotte. I missed you at Thanksgiving. Sat next to your mom for dinner. Boy, did she put on a spread. She is going to be instantly translated for that one!
I appreciate your honesty. Don't change. I wish I could be as candid as you are. And...what rules?
Jared doesn't EVER write on our blog either, but who cares. He also doesn't do the dishes, laundry, or cooking but once in a blue moon, and he NEVER vacuums or cleans. I still do it all and honestly would rather keep it that way. I hate the way he loads the dishwasher anyway. :)
I can't believe how big Gavin is! What a cutie. I am all for breastfeeding but I believe that not every kid is meant to be breast fed. That is why they invented formula. You are no less of a mother. I am so sorry that your hair is falling out though. My hair fell out with Owen BECAUSE I was nursing and this time my hair has stayed the same so far. You never know what your body is going to pull on you.
By the way...I am SO impressed that Dalton has his own blog!
Just mix it all together in one big, fat, blog. (yours!) The word "BLOG" evokes images of something mish-moshed and big and fat anyways, doesn't it? whatever. I'm going to bed. Incoherency seeping in.
miss you guys already.
You aren't alone. Lots of us have 'family' blogs that we dominate with our thoughts, ravings and personal views on life. Seems to me that is the norm. You are, after all, blogging about YOUR family - so it is indeed your family blog. :-)
You've always done things your way.....and so far, your way on this blog is great!
Write what you want, cross "unseen" lines....I don't think they exist. Just make it something you enjoy. I enjoy your rantings and cute pics.
Gavin and John must be on the same boat about this blogging thing....cold day in hell, shoe shopping....yup, twins!
